Stillbox is a booth in eight modules, lined with Stillform panels. It takes the room’s reverb and reflections out of your recording, so vocals come out dry and studio-clean. It sets up in about 25 minutes, no tools needed.

Why the room gives your recording away
A microphone hears the room as well as your voice. Reflections from walls, desk and ceiling reach it a moment after you do. On the recording that is reverb and a boxy colour that no plug-in fully removes later.
Inside the booth every pair of parallel surfaces is treated, and traps in the rear corners catch what is left. Keep your mouth off the booth’s centre line and the microphone hears mostly your voice.
Stillbox is not soundproofing. It improves what the microphone hears, not what your neighbours hear.

Eight modules made to be put up and taken down again and again. Each has an aluminium frame, birch skin and Stillform panels on the inside.

Aluminium frame
30 × 30 mm structural profile. Light, stiff and happy to be assembled many times over.

Birch skin
4 mm birch plywood slid into the grooves of the profiles.

Stillform panels inside
Walls and ceiling are lined with our 5 cm panels: timber frame, stone wool, veil and acoustic fabric. They are screwed on from the outside through the plywood, so you can swap them.

Corner traps
Narrow 25 × 100 cm panels stand across the rear corners with an air gap behind them. They tame the boxy sound of a small space.

Window at eye level
50 × 35 cm, 6 mm polycarbonate, in the upper rear module. You face the window and the microphone has its back to the glass, so the reflection lands on its least sensitive side.

Knobs, not screws
24 plates with star knobs hold the modules together. You tighten them by hand.
An interior in Stillform colours
The same fabrics as our panels. Pick the interior colour and we will add it to your enquiry.
You can change the colour later too. The panels are screwed on from the outside, so you just swap them for a set in another colour.
Curtain
Two layers of acoustic fabric on a rail at the header, fixed to the sides with hook-and-loop. Choose from 5 colours:

1Lower modules
Stand the rear wall and both sides, join them with the plates and tighten the knobs.
2Upper modules
Add the second row on top: the rear wall with the window and both sides. Fit the header above the entrance.
3Roof
Slide the two roof modules in from above. That is why the room needs a ceiling of at least about 235 cm.
4Curtain
Hang the curtain on the rail at the header and fix it to the sides with hook-and-loop. The gap above the header stays open: that is the ventilation.

Questions about Stillbox
Will the booth keep my neighbours from hearing me?
No. Stillbox improves the sound inside: it removes the reverb and reflections the microphone hears. It does not keep outside noise out and will not stop loud singing from getting through, especially low notes. It is acoustic treatment, not soundproofing.
How much space do I need?
The booth takes up 100 × 130 cm of floor and stands 220 cm tall. The room needs a ceiling of at least about 235 cm so the roof can slide in from above. Leave space in front for drawing the curtain aside.
What car do I need?
The modules are packed in pairs. An estate car with a flat load space of about 135 × 110 cm is enough.
What does setting up involve?
You stand the lower modules, then the upper ones, slide the roof in and hang the curtain. 24 knobs hold it together, no tools needed. About 25 minutes on your own, about 15 with two people.
How is it delivered?
By courier, with the modules packed in pairs. The delivery cost is part of the quote.
How long will I wait?

Can I change the interior colour later?
Yes. The panels are screwed on from the outside through the plywood. Order a set in another colour from the Stillform collection and swap them.
Is there enough air for a long session?
A 3 cm gap above the header works as passive ventilation. In long sessions, take breaks and draw the curtain aside to let fresh air in.
What is the warranty?
24 months. Panels, knob plates and the curtain are separate parts, so a damaged part is replaced without replacing the whole module.
