Installation
Your panel hangs on a French cleat, like a picture. Everything that needs screwing in is in the box.
In the box
- the panel, with its cleat screwed to the back
- the wall cleat
- plugs and screws for the wall cleat
You’ll need
- a drill
- a bit to suit your wall: concrete, brick or plasterboard
- a spirit level
- a pencil and a tape measure
Step by step
1Choose the height
The centre of the panel should be roughly at ear height: about 110–120 cm from the floor at a desk, about 150–160 cm where you usually stand.
2Measure the cleat position
On the back of the panel, measure from its top edge to the top of the cleat. The wall cleat goes that far below where you want the top of the panel.
3Level and mark
Hold the wall cleat against the wall, level it with the spirit level and mark the holes in pencil.
4Drill the holes
Check there are no cables or pipes where you’re drilling. Drill the holes with a bit that suits your wall and push in the plugs.
5Screw on the wall cleat
The angled edge of the cleat should face up and towards the wall. Tighten the screws, but not so hard that the plugs pull out.
6Hang the panel
Lift the panel slightly above the cleat, bring it to the wall and lower it until the panel’s cleat drops in behind the wall cleat.
7Check it’s level
Put the spirit level on the top edge of the panel. If you need to, slide the panel slightly sideways without lifting it off the cleat.
Tips
- Plasterboard walls
- Use plasterboard fixings instead of the plugs in the box. For larger panels, screw the cleat into a stud.
- Several panels in a row
- Mark a single line for all the cleats and keep the gaps between panels equal, for example 5–10 cm. It’s easiest to start with the middle panel.
- On the ceiling
- These panels are designed for walls. Ceiling mounting isn’t supported in this version.
- Safety
- Before drilling, use a detector to check for electrical cables and pipes in the wall. Take extra care above beds and sofas, and make sure the wall cleat is firmly fixed before you hang the panel.
Know where it’s going?
Measure the space and enter the size in the configurator – we’ll make the panel to fit it exactly.
