How many panels do you need?
Enter your room’s size, what it’s used for and how it’s furnished. We’ll estimate the reverberation time now and with panels, and suggest three sets to choose from.
How we calculate
Reverberation time (RT60) is how long it takes for sound to fall by 60 dB once the source stops. We use the Sabine formula: RT60 = 0.161 · V / A, where V is the room’s volume and A the total absorption of its surfaces.
We estimate the room’s absorption from typical values for bare, furnished and soft rooms. Panels replace part of the wall with a surface that absorbs far more – we use the average of the 500 and 1000 Hz bands from the material manufacturer’s indicative data.
It’s an estimate, not a measurement. Furniture, curtains, shelves and open doorways change the result, and measuring a specific room may give different values.

Where to hang panels
The number of panels is half the job. The other half is where they go – see our guide to placement.
