Questions and answers

Answers about the panels, ordering, delivery, installation and printing.

The panels

Will the panels block noise from my neighbours?

No. Acoustic panels don’t stop sound travelling between rooms – that is the job of walls, floors and doors. They reduce echo and reverberation inside the room, so voices sound clearer and the room itself sounds calmer. If the problem is noise from next door or the street, panels won’t keep it out.

How we make our panels

What’s the difference between 5 and 10 cm?

Both handle mid and high frequencies – the range of speech – very well. The 10 cm panel has two layers of rock wool and does noticeably more with lower frequencies, so we suggest it for voice recording and home cinemas. For a home office or living room, 5 cm is usually enough.

What are they made of?

The frame is pine or spruce. Inside is a rock wool slab (two in the 10 cm panel), covered with a thin non-woven veil, and on top an acoustic fabric stretched by hand and stitched at the back of the frame. The back is closed with black non-woven fabric and a wooden French cleat for hanging.

How we make our panels

Does the rock wool shed fibres?

The wool is enclosed: a veil over its face holds the fibres in, and the whole panel is wrapped in fabric. The panel needs no maintenance. Just don’t cut the fabric open – loose wool fibres can irritate the skin.

What are the smallest and largest sizes?

Each side can be anything from 30 to 200 cm, to the centimetre. The shorter side has a limit that depends on the thickness: up to 120 cm at 5 cm and up to 118 cm at 10 cm. The configurator keeps you within these limits and tells you what to change.

Can I order a square panel?

Yes. Choose “Square” in the configurator and enter the side length. The same limits apply as for rectangles – in a square every side counts as the shorter one, so the maximum is 120 cm at 5 cm thick and 118 cm at 10 cm.

Can I clean a panel?

Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush, or a lint roller. Blot a fresh stain gently with a damp cloth – don’t rub it or use strong cleaners. Don’t wash the fabric or take it off the frame.

Ordering and payment

How does the configurator work?

You enter the width and height, then choose the thickness and finish – a colour from the collection or your own print. The configurator shows the panel in a preview straight away, along with the price and the estimated shipping date. When everything looks right, add it to your basket. You can also save the design and come back to it later from a link.

How can I pay?

You pay online when you place the order. You’ll see the available payment methods on the last step, before you confirm.

Can I get a VAT invoice for my company?

Yes. When ordering, tick the option to buy as a company and enter your VAT number and company details – we’ll issue the invoice to them.

Can I change my order after paying?

Get in touch as soon as you can. Until we’ve ordered the frame from the joinery, we can usually change the size or colour. After that the panel is in production and can’t be changed.

Delivery

How long does it take?

We make every panel for a specific order and ship it within 7 working days of payment. You’ll see the estimated shipping date in the configurator and in your basket before you pay.

Where do you deliver?

By courier anywhere in Poland and to countries of the European Union. You can also collect your order in person in Warsaw.

How much is delivery?

It depends on the country and on the size and number of panels – large panels travel as oversized parcels. You’ll see the exact cost in your basket once you choose the delivery country, before you pay.

Can I collect my order?

Yes, in Warsaw. Choose collection when you order – we’ll send the collection details by email when your panel is ready.

Installation

What’s in the box?

The panel with the French cleat fixed to its back, plus the wall half of the cleat with plugs and screws. You’ll also need a drill, a bit that suits your wall, a spirit level and a pencil.

Installation guide

Can I hang a panel on a plasterboard wall?

Yes. Use plasterboard fixings for the wall cleat instead of the plugs in the box, and for larger panels screw the cleat into a stud.

Installation guide

How high should I hang the panels?

Ideally with the centre of the panel roughly at ear height: about 110–120 cm from the floor at a desk, about 150–160 cm where you usually stand. A panel does most where sound first reflects, which is at the height of the source and the listener.

Installation guide

Which files do you accept?

PNG, JPG, WebP and SVG, up to 40 MB. For artwork covering the whole panel we recommend 100 dpi at full size. The configurator checks your file’s resolution for the size you choose and warns you if it’s too low.

Preparing your file

Does printing affect how the panel works?

No. We print by dye sublimation: the dye goes into the fibre rather than forming a coating on top, so the weave stays open and sound passes through it just as it does through unprinted fabric.

Returns and faulty goods

Can I return a panel?

Each panel is made to the size and finish you choose, so the statutory right to cancel doesn’t apply to these orders. Your rights for faulty goods apply as usual: if a panel has a defect or arrives damaged, we’ll put it right. If you’re unsure about a colour, order the sample kit first.

Terms of sale

What if a panel arrives damaged?

Check the parcel while the courier is there. If the box is damaged, ask them to record it. Take photos of the panel and the packaging and get in touch – we’ll replace or repair the panel under your rights for faulty goods.
